R. Jay vs. Mr. Ed

As a general rule, it's best to take Wikipedia entries with a grain of salt - especially when they sound too good to be true. But whatever its credibility - and we have our doubts - R. Jay Soward's is just too good to pass up. Specifically, this part, which we offer in honour of R. Jay's first touchdown of the season:

"He burst onto the college football scene with a 4-TD game vs. UCLA in his freshman season with USC. Unfortunately, it was a slow downhill trip for R. Jay from there, bottoming out when he was almost killed by the USC mascot, Traveler, a horse, while he gestured at the opposing team's fans on his way to the bathroom in the middle of a game during his senior season."

655040-390361-thumbnail.jpgSomewhat disappointingly, Traveler is not a guy in a horse costume - he's an actual horse. Equally disappointingly, we're having trouble finding confirmation of this story anywhere else. Still, let's just just accept it as part of R. Jay lore. And let's say it again: The Argos need a new mascot. Can you imagine Jason nearly killing a player on his way to the bathroom?
